This demo event was held in Gard Region, South of France, where dead mulch have been tested for 3 years. Over 20 people attended, including farmers, advisors, and industry representatives. Some dead mulch appear to be an interesting alternative solution, even if the high price currently remains a significant drawback. Depending on local conditions, wood chips can last quite long, miscanthus straw can have a good efficiency, and dead mulch allow the soil temperatures to be more stable during the year and more humid during summer, compared to a soil without mulch.
