On May 10th, Lorenzo Gagliardi of the Oper8 UNIPI team attended the conference titled “Robotics and Digitalization in Viticulture”, in San Casciana in Val di Pesa, near Florence,” organized within the Robotics Festival of Pisa.
The conference provided researchers, companies, technicians, and operators in the sector with the opportunity to share experiences, learn from case studies, and discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with the use of new technologies in viticulture.
The companies Netafim, BASF, Fendt, and Vitibot presented the digital and technical solutions currently available on the market for sustainable vineyard management. Afterwards, there was a round table involving wineries, industry associations, and regional representatives. In the afternoon, there was an exhibition and demonstration session of sensors for vineyard monitoring and machines for performing the main cultivation operations.
During the event, Lorenzo Gagliardi disseminated the Oper8 project to the stakeholders, stimulating discussion and distributing flyers and information about the activities within the Italian network.
