Lantmännen, the largest Swedish grain merchant, a coop owned by 18 000 farmers and activities all the way from field to fork arranged the annual regional field day at their farm Bjertorp on the 23th of May.
The Oper-8 project was presented by Thomas Börjesson as one of two talks on alternative weed control in arable crops.
He informed the audience about the different resources available through the project such as newsletters, videos, podcasts and the inventory as a valuable source of information.
In the other talk, Mattias Andersson from a company called Dataväxt, presented the Norwegian system DAT Ecopatch that has newly been introduced in Sweden.
On average, herbicies use has proved to be reduced by 43% and the technique has gained much attention in Sweden already.
